One yells Rain, Rain go away, come some other day
Another screams Rain, Rain spread with all your sway, this
very day.
The rich housewife said my kids will be drenched
Rain, Rain go away come some other day
The starving farmer’s wife said my kids will be fed
Rain, Rain spread with all your sway this very day
The busy executive cribbed about the traffic ordeal
Rain, Rain go away, come some other day
The jobless boatman smiled about the tourist trail.
Rain, Rain spread with all your sway this very day
There goes my profits cried the greedy tanker owner
Rain, Rain go away, come some other day
There comes a windfall laughed the scheming stock broker
Rain, Rain spread with all your sway this very day
Oh! We cannot play cried the kids
Rain, Rain go away, come some other day
Ah! Here comes our inspiration celebrated the lovers
Rain, Rain spread with all your sway this very day
To a few misery, to many a reason to be happy
Let the rains spread with sway this very day and many a day.
A poem alright, but one I could connect with. I have had similar thoughts run thorugh my mind. Tell me, however, how does rain bring a smile on a stock broker's face? That went over my head.
ReplyDeleteGreat, you are getting serious.
RE
Raghu, just an assumption that a stock broker makes money when an economy dependent on monsoon does well
